Harvest Table Nutrition

Harvest Table Nutrition Owner Bailey Franklyn

Harvest Table Nutrition is an excellent resource for people that are looking to put more vegetables on their table, refine their meal plans, learn new recipes and skills that take nutrition to the next level. Registered dietician Bailey Franklyn founded Harvest Table Nutrition to help health-conscious people improve their cooking skills and make healthy eating easier and more enjoyable.

Bailey offers hands-on, interactive cooking workshops where you’ll learn new culinary techniques, recipes & have fun! The small-size workshops are limited to 6 participants and are held in her private cooking studio, located on a beautiful apple orchard outside Thornbury.  Another choice is to participate from the comfort of your own kitchen by signing up for a virtual class, which is an excellent option for people who are stay-at-home parents, have mobility challenges or are a little strapped for time.

She also offers group cooking classes for adults where she brings it all to you. Everything you and your friends or colleagues need to prepare a delicious meal without the stress of planning, shopping and prepping.  Cooking really brings people together, whether it’s for a friend’s weekend or a corporate team-building session. If you prefer something more private and personal, one-on-one sessions are available as well as nutritional counselling sessions.

Bailey is a Culinary Registered Dietician and went to culinary school at Georgian College in Owen Sound. Her passion for teaching started with her years working in primary care. “I loved teaching students and parents about food and nutrition, and often during discussions, I realized that there was often a disconnect.  It is very satisfying to feel that ‘ah-ha’ moment when people can make the connection between what they are putting on the table and how it makes them feel” explains Bailey. “Giving people culinary skills that they can take with them and apply to their day-to-day life in perpetuity is extremely satisfying for me. It all starts with meal planning, learning how to shop for the right ingredients and then giving people the skillsets they need to put a delicious, beautiful meal on the table.  Tying in seasonal fresh produce is the icing on the cake.” she continues.

In addition to her successful entrepreneurial venture with Harvest Table Nutrition, Bailey is an outdoor enthusiast, has been a race coach with the Georgian Peaks Ski Club, enjoys gardening, yoga, running and is currently training for a 10K run. She feels extremely fortunate to be able to live in such a wonderful place with so many small businesses that are all very supportive of each other.
